The European Commission has authorized (with commitments) the incorporation of a joint venture valued at 18.6 billion by Orange and MásMóvil. This is one of the most important transactions in the electronic communications sector in recent years. From an Antitrust law perspective, the transaction was highly relevant due to the consolidation process that the sector is undergoing and the consequences that the position adopted by the European Commission could have on future corporate transactions in this area.
The firm’s Antitrust department, led by Alfonso Ois, has participated in the transaction by advising Vodafone Spain during a procedure that has lasted more than 18 months, and which has involved continuous interaction with the European Commission, the CNMC and other European institutions.
